Most recycled material fails commercially for one of two reasons. Either the performance is not consistent enough to specify, or the origin cannot be proven well enough to claim. We built ēkot to solve both at once.
What it is
Certified circular raw material (CCRM) is post-consumer textile and soft goods waste that has been recovered, sorted, treated to a defined specification and released with a certificate. It is not a bale of mixed rag. It is a material with a spec sheet, a recycled content figure and a traceable origin.
How it is made
Acquire. We take material from retail take-back programmes, charity sorting operations and commercial waste streams that would otherwise go to landfill.
Sort. Material is graded and categorised at the gate, with every event recorded.
Treat. Material is processed to a defined specification for its end application.
Validate. Performance is tested with our research partners before a material is released to a new application.
Supply. Material is delivered with a certificate and a verifiable record.
Where it goes
Our first market is construction and infrastructure, where recovered textile fibre can substitute for virgin inputs in cementitious and composite applications. Research with the University of Waikato is validating performance in these applications, and we are scoping further applications with partners in manufacturing and materials.
What comes with every batch
Composition and fibre breakdown. Recycled content percentage. Verified diversion from landfill, in kilograms. Carbon accounted using MfE 2025 emission factors. A record ID anyone can verify on ēkotrace without an account.
